January 9, 2022, surrounded by his wife and children. He was a bright spark in this
world and will be deeply missed by many.
He was born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua on May 5, 1967 to Casto Arturo Ruiz Gómez
& Consuelo Gonzalez de Ruiz. He was the youngest of 3 siblings. At the age of 27,
this city boy met a small-town girl, Corina Arrieta, and whisked her off her feet.
Within the span of 15 months, they met, dated, got engaged and married on March 9,
1996. They were blessed with two children, Oscar Jr and Isabella who were his pride
and joy. He was a loving, playful, and affectionate husband, father, brother, uncle,
and friend.
Oscar served and helped many families around the El Paso and Fabens community
in many ways because of his kind and servant heart. He was one of four founders of
the Rapid Cash family that first opened in December of 1996. He loved his job
because he was able to interact with his clients on a personal level. He was never
too busy to help someone in need, share a funny story, or to pray for a friend, client,
or neighbor. He was an exceptional boss, co-worker and friend.
He was a member of Vino Nuevo El Paso Church where he participated in many
mission trips and formed a part of the men’s ministry “De Hombre a Hombre.” He
was also the coach of the men’s softball team for the Vino Nuevo East Campus and
very proud of it. Prior to that, he was a member of “Iglesia El Redentor” in Chihuahua
where he was a member of the choir group “Raymundo Olmeda” and kept in touch
with many of its members through the years. Oscar taught us by example the love of
God by giving of his time and resources to others.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Casto Arturo Ruiz Gómez and Consuelo
González de Ruiz.
He is survived by his wife, Corina Ruiz; children, Oscar Jr. and Isabella Ruiz; siblings,
Arturo Ruiz González and María de Jesús Ruiz González; 3 sisters-in-law, 2
brothers-in-law, 12 nieces and nephews, extended family members, and an
abundance of friends.
The family will welcome friends from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 13,
2022 at Vino Nuevo East, 988 Kessler Dr., El Paso, TX with a celebration of life
service at 6:30 pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, January 14, 2022 with a
prayer service at 1:00 pm at Vino Nuevo East and ending with a service at 3:00 pm
at Evergreen Cemetery East. Serving as pallbearers are Oscar Ruiz Jr., Arturo Ruiz,
David Ruiz, Oscar Arrieta, Oscar Arrieta Jr., Daniel Juárez, Isaac Nabarrette, Cesar
Castillo and Heriberto Prieto. Honorary bearers are Alexander and Mateo Serrano.
We would like to thank God for bringing Oscar into this life for 54 years where he
touched so many lives. We may not understand his sudden passing, but we stand
firm in the knowledge that God has a bigger purpose and will sustain us. He fought
the good fight until the end.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there
is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge,
will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for
his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4: 7-8
