Nancy Hanks Galter, (Nan), 81, passed on January 07, 2019 in Dallas, Texas where she had lived for more than 37 years. Nan was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed by so many.
She was born September 3, 1937 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Paul and Wardell Hanks. After high school, she married John C. Ritter and had a daughter, Peggy and twin boys, Ronald and Donald. She and her family moved to El Paso where they lived for many years. She is predeceased by her first husband, John, daughter, Peggy and her brother, Jess. She married Morris Galter in 1982 and moved to Dallas, Texas where she lived the remainder of her life. She loved to travel and she and Morrie travelled to many countries and cities and shared many, many memories. They loved museums, art exhibits and loved to go to the movies. She loved flowers and participated in a garden club and visited the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens often. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and did much research of her family history. She was also a member of the St. James Episcopal church in Dallas as well as an active member of the alter guild of that church.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Morris Galter, sons, Ronald Ritter, (Tina) of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Donald Ritter, (Kerry) of Haslet, Texas, sister-in-law, Judy Hanks of Pearl River, New York, niece, Tracy Hanks of Boonton, New Jersey, grandchildren, Paul Ritter of San Marcos, Texas, Stephanie Rutland (Jeff) of Lampasas, Texas, Austin Ritter (Lauren) of Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico, Michelle Evans (Josh) of Bowie, Texas, great-grandchildren Paige, Cole, Logan, Sevy, and Kasen.
Graveside Service for Nan will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Friends are invited to attend. A memorial will be hosted in Dallas at St. James Episcopal Church at a later date for her friends in that area who may wish to pay respects.
