Monica Lucas

Monica Asher Lucas, 67, passed away July 24, 2017 in El Paso, Texas. Monica was born February 22, 1950 in Holland, Michigan to Richard Lee Asher and Doris Monica Myrick but was raised in Attica, Indiana. She lived in Goshen, Indiana, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and settling in El Paso, Texas. Monica worked at Purdue University in the engineering library, She was a SFC in the Army Reserve (Mess Sgt)

Monica married Marvin A. Lucas in 1982. She was a loving mother to her dogs Myrick I, Myrick II, Myrick III and was a friend to everyone. She leaves behind 14 God children, including other family and friends.

Monica was an active member of several organizations, Goshen, Indiana Moose lodge and St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was a master catechist, leader of confirmation 1, Eucharistic minister and St. Vincent de Paul.

She was a home maker and always made too much food for the party. A friend to everyone and will be remembered for her faith in God and the resurrection.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 5-9 with a rosary at 7pm at Hillcrest funeral home- Carolina. Mass will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10am at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Services under the direction of Hillcrest Funeral Home.
