This has been harder than I thought it would be. Mother had a long battle at the end & I know that she is now in the loving arms of the Lord. She was the only person I know who deserves a spot sitting next to our Heavenly Father. She never was one to judge another or say an unkind word about anyone. She loved unconditionally & never held anything against you. Never brought up past events or difficult times. I wish I was more like my mother, but unfortunately I am more like my father. Darn!! Mother never used foul language or got angry. A true angel if ever there was one. May I someday become more like her. I remember her coming to watch the kids when they were little so Gary & I could get away & have a little vacation/break from them. She always cleaned my oven when she came & we would always clean the windows (with newspaper & vinegar of course). My windows and oven have never been that clean since. She was truly the BEST mom anyone could ever have.She is greatly missed - but I know she is happy where she is at, with her family on the other side & is watching over us continually. This gives me some peace. Your loving, middle, daughter. Love ya mom!!

When I think of my Grandmother Hatch, i remember a very caring and loving women who would flick you with a rubber band if you misbehaved. A women that took me and mother mother in more than once and never batted an eye. A women that volunteered at the elementary school for many years passing on a strong ethic to countless children that were not even her own. You will be missed Grandma, and thank you for all that you have done and shown me in my life. I love you grandma, go be at peace.

Mother may have saved Michael from a crocodile in the Philippines, but she was never able to save him from having to dress up in western attire (that our father had made)when Grammy and Grampy Runge (Mother's parents) came to visit for the annual rodeo. 
Personally, I think Mother liked dressing up and going to the rodeo. Look at this picture and how cute they both look. 

I know that on one occasion, Mildred met Fess Parker!!  That would be Daniel Boone to anyone old enough to remember the TV series.
Growing up, I had a HUGE crush on Daniel Boone; his rugged good looks... wearing that coon skin cap, moccasins and that suede jacket with all the fringe.

I can't believe that MY mother was lucky enough to have met Daniel Boone (I mean Fess Parker) at a rodeo. I have seen the picture slide with my own green with envy eyes.

I'm sure just minutes before they met, Daniel had "kilt a Bar" and broke a buckin' bronco.

Even at over 90 years old Grandma Hatch was still cool and feisty as all get out! look at her dukes up and in her shades and Mt.Dew cap! Man Grandma you will surely be missed...Love Josh

Mildred only had one sister...Lavona (Babe) Brandt. 
Even with the miles between them, they remained close.  Babe maintained their closeness with visits and phone calls. 
During her visits, Babe would spend all day at the Assisted Living facility with Mother.  Helping Mildred win at Bingo sessions, playing cards, joining her for meals and reminiscing about the all the adventures they had shared.

Mother was lucky to have had the love of such a wonderful sister.

Tucked away among my mother's things, I found the following written in her own hand.  If you asked any of Mildred's four children, they would tell you that it was her life's mandate.

"My greatest ambition is to have the wisdom to guide my children down the path of life that will eventually bring them to the Fathers house.
Nothing else in life is as important to me as this.  I will do everything in my power to guide their footsteps, not so much over the easy road but in a way that will fortify their souls and develop their lives into the likeness of Jesus."

The shop with the painted turtles - how mesmerized I was, standing there watching they forever. Suddenly Mother hollers "There he is!" She was so upset that I had been "lost." Lost? I hadn't moved two feet. I was glued to that window. They had walked off, thinking I was following behind. Lost and didn't know it...like many today

O Mother, what can I say. You taught Fairness - Marlene, You cut the candy bar. Michael you choose first. Next time, Michael you cut, Marlene chooses. Your discipline was even handed. The game of Slap Jack became a correction tool - your lightning speed allowed you to win "Hands Down!" You were a great Bridge player - a game I never grasped. Your wry wit playing Majhong at family gathering will be greatly missed. You were the best mother one could ever have. Thank you for keeping the crocodile from getting me in the Philippines !

  Today, May 15, 2015 at 11:00am El Paso TX time, Mildred's family and friends will honor her memory by saying a prayer, remembering a funny or heartwarming story or just thinking of the love and joy that Mildred brought to so many at exactly the same time.
   We were unable to gather together at the time of her death, but today we will all unite in her honor.  We will support and console one another, grieve at our loss and rejoice in the fact that we were lucky to have had her unconditional love and quiet strength for almost 95 years.  
  The miles between us will drift away, and we will be hand in hand and heart to heart as we honor a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend.  
 You will be missed Mildred but none who have known you will ever forget you.

To my Grandma with love ...you will truely be missed by all that knew you! Your memory with be etched in the hearts and souls of many till the end of time.You where a wonderful grandma and great grandma to me and my kids! You lived a long and wonderful life and for this we are truely greatful. I have many of good memories with you that I will remember and share with friends and family for all my years to come. I know your in a better place and your healed of all your sickness and for this we all rejoice.I am surrounded by your memory every day and it brings a smile to my face.I miss you grandma and always will, but just know that I love you and im lucky to have spent the last 34 yrs of my life having you as my grandma.

 I can not begin to explain to anyone who may read this what a wonderful mother I had.  She provided me with everything that is truly important in life.  She was more than my mother, she was my best friend.  She was the one person in the world that I could tell anything to knowing she would continue to love and guide me without judgment.  I think that is what I have missed, and will continue to miss the most. 
 I always said that I needed Mother here with me more than she needed to be with me.  Those words were never truer than now.
 I love you more than I ever showed, more than you could ever have possibly known and now I miss you even more than that.
