Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marcia; his two children Richard Daniels and his wife Diane; daughter Christi Atkinson and her husband Dave; step-son Michael Caldarella; four grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Cristopher, and Mikel; his brother Dave Daniels and wife Janna; and his uncle William Lee. He is also survived by: his brother-in-law Walter Denman; four sisters-in-law; Patricia Brewer, Linda Kinnerup, Diane Christmas, and Kathy Waterhouse, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Deborah Daniels, his father Robert (Bob) Daniels, and his mother Inez Lee Daniels.
Mike was a lifelong resident of El Paso, leaving only to serve proudly in the Army during the Vietnam War, and for assignments away from El Paso for American Airlines. He also worked in the family owned business, Daniels Roofing. After retiring from American Airlines, he worked for the El Paso County Water Improvement District, and was currently employed by El Paso ISD as campus security for Franklin HS and Raymond Telles Academy. He loved everyone and had the special ability to relate to young adults. He was both liked and respected by the students. His Franklin and Telles families were saddened to hear of his passing, and will miss him in the hallways.
Mike created a party by his mere presence. His fun loving nature extended to his interests in fishing, traveling and RVing, but he loved bowling most of all. He was a champion bowler and had a number of 300 games and an 800 series to his credit. He was honored to be a member of the Eastside Keglers.
As we think of Mike, know this: “Those we love don’t go away; They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; Still loved, still missed and very dear.”
