She was born April 23, 1945, in Mishawaka, Indiana to Gordan and Alyce Shriver. After many years of military duty station changes, El Paso became her home where in 1964 she graduated from Bel Air High, then met the love of her life and the man she would call her husband for 57 years. Mary dedicated herself to caring for her three children before stepping into the workforce, working for Walmart for 20 years. Mary was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma and Mimaw.
Mary is survived by her husband, Larry McVay; her children, Denise (Ron) Figueroa, Kenneth McVay and Ann Marie (Joe) Canchola; her grandchildren, Brandon, Andrew, Derek, Lauren, Nathan, Nicole, Devin, Madison, and Kathryn; her great-grandchildren, Raeann, Thea, Eliza, and Abel.
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 131 S. Zaragoza with a Graveside Service to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
