Mary Ella DeLoach-Mauch, 87, went home to be with our Lord on March 22, 2012. She was born November 20, 1924 in Richton, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hurbert and Ruby DeLoach; one brother, Eddie Deloach. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, of 35 years, Robert Mauch; one son, Dennis DeLoach; one sister, Brenetta Hicks-Jones; two brothers, Ronald DeLoach and Reginald DeLoach. Mary graduated from the Piney Woods Country Life School in 1942, where she played trombone in the school's travelling band, the Sweethearts of Rhythm. She joined the US Army in 1949, and was one of the first African-American women to be assigned to Japan. She worked for many years at the Fort Bliss Finance and Accounting Office, and retired in 1978. Mary was a kind and caring person whose smile brightened the lives of everyone she knew. She was committed to helping anyone in need of help. She would want us all to do the same.
