Mary Linda Peña, age 53, loving mother of three, and adoring wife to husband Joel Peña, passed away in the afternoon hours of December 4th. Mary Linda was born May 29th, 1969 to Manuel and Evangelina Quintana in El Paso Texas and grew up surrounded by her sisters, Vangie, Deborah Quintana Casteel and Suzi Scaramuzza. She fell in love with her husband Joel in 1988 at UTEP, they married in 1992 and both shared a love for family and decided to start their own. Mary was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to her children's schools and interests. Mary spent her time volunteering in the community, an active member in PTA and eventually president, Girl Scout and Brownies Leader of troop 526, CCD Teacher at Saint Raphael and selling tickets to all the athletic events at Burges High School. Once Mary got her girls off to a great start she found another calling as a Elementary School Teacher, teaching at Cielo Vista and Scotsdale Elementary. As a mother and teacher, Mary was supportive, generous, loving and kind. In her free time, Mary loved to read, travel to be there for her 18 nieces and nephews life events. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and especially her 3 daughters: Julia, Lauren and Erica who adore her with all of their hearts.

Mary Linda is survived by her husband Joel, daughters Julia, Lauren and Erica, and her sisters Deborah Quintana Casteel, Suzi Scaramuzza with their husbands George Casteel and Guido Scaramuzza.
There will be a Visitation held at Hillcrest Funeral Home on 1060 N Carolina Dr. on the 18th of December from 3:00p.m.-7:00p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 5:00p.m., for those who would like to say their last goodbye to Mary Linda, followed by a Funeral Mass at St Raphael on the19th of December at 12:30p.m. which will proceed to Restlawn Memorial Park, on 8700 Dyer Street.
