Mary Jabor Ayoub joined our heavenly Father on March 3, 2023. She was born in Colorado City, Texas on February 13, 1926 and grew up in Big Spring, Texas. As a young lady she worked in sales at her father’s business, Jabor’s Dry Goods store. There, she learned to be a shrewd negotiator. In 1956, she left her hometown to marry her husband, George J. Ayoub and begin her new life in El Paso, Texas.
Mary (also known as Siti, Arabic for Grandmother), was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an outstanding cook and baker and deeply enjoyed spending many hours making delicious meals for the people she loved. Mary was generous of heart and found great joy in giving gifts of appreciation to those who touched her life. She derived great pleasure in playing cards with her beloved sisters-in-law and grandchildren, often playing with a card up her sleeve for “luck”.
Mary lived a simple but blessed life, loving much, and being loved by her three daughters, family, friends, and caregivers. She will be greatly missed!
She is survived by her brother Tony, her daughters Laila Cortes, Diana Mrochek (Michael) and Georgette Hamilton (Lloyd), her 7 grandchildren, Michaela Cortes, Christian Cortes, Justin Mrochek, Jena Mrochek (Connor), Lloyd Hamilton III (Marta), Phil Hamilton (Lindsey) and Madison Hamilton (Chris) and soon to be 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband George J. Ayoub, parents, Manuel and Alicia Jabor, and her brothers, Antone, Joe and Johnny.
