When we were in six flags we went on this ride named the joker and it was me mayrine my Nino and Tony. My Nino and Tony went first and then me and mayrine we started to go up and I decided to look up to see where we where at and all I see is my Nino’s but. 

Gosh its so just.. heartbreaking. It feels so fake and I wish it was :(  He was the best dad no matter what anyone else says. Rest in peace dad.-Hemma Delatorre

Martin I had the pleasure of coaching along side you and those are memories I’ll keep with me. Thank you for everything you did for these kids and the bond you created you will be greatly missed!! Always wanted you to come back because we made the best duo!!

The impact you made to these young men will never be forgotten a lot of your former players have fond memories of how your impact coaching allowed the to grow into men.

I was tasked to evacuate him and several other Marines to the battalion aid station at the Fallujah train station.  His comment will forever be embedded in my mind, “Sgt. Garza, does this mean I get a Purple Heart?”  I said, “STFU DeLaTorre and get in the damn vehicle!”  He had the biggest smile on his face, and almost seemed happy that he was wounded.  I was shocked to hear his comment, but I knew he would be ok.  I will miss our deep conversations about our time together in Iraq.  I will miss our conversations and texts about family and life outside the Marine Corps.  You will be missed by many brother.  I would like express my condolences to the DeLaTorre family.

Martin, I can’t sum up the right words to tell you how much you’ve impacted our lives but I can try. You were always a call away (even though you never answered you’d always call back) no matter what we needed or when you were always there. You would always crack a joke and make me laugh no matter how bad of a day I had. Our lives were so blessed having known you. I can’t wait to tell mijo, your godson, how amazing you were. Every time we go eat you already know we’re gonna be having that dessert because like Annaya says “Tio Martin are we getting dessert?” I’m going to miss you so much but I promise to honor you and always talk about how much of an amazing man you were. We love you Martin always and forever my homie. 

Great honor in being able to meet and know you brother! It was always a great and fun time with you! You will be missed brother but never forgotten! This is the last photo that I took of you and it was this year 2022 at the  Tampa Bay vs Dallas game and this is how I will always remember you, a great friend, Husband, and one of the best Fathers ever!! Rest in Peace  and ride in paradise!! Just know that I will always keep my promise to you brother!!

I know we aren’t blood but you were my everything, you were my dad. You came into my life when I thought it would just be my mom, my sister, and I. I never had a forger figure in my life and I am so glad it was you . You molded me into the man I am today and nobody would have done it better than you. You always told me that I have to be strong for the day that I become the man of the house. I promise you dad that I will make sure our house is protected with all the strength I have. You were so hard with me and I never understood why. After the years I realize that even the little things you made me do left an impact in my daily routine. You would always ask me why I never wanted anything for my birthday or any holiday. The reason I never wanted anything was because I already had the GREATEST GIFT EVER. It was YOU dad. I will try to live up to your legacy and hold the house together with a smile like you did. I love you dad, I always will

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. De La Torre as I am little Martha’s teacher Ms. Mari. He has to be one of the most gentle man I know. His kind HEART was made of GOLD, his SOUL was kindhearted and his everyday spirit was one of a kind! His daily generosity was a gift to my classroom. He always made sure we had what we needed plus what my scholars wanted! Sending weekly goodies was his thing! Thank you Mr De La Torre for being AMAZING!  He is a special soul that will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with my little Martha and their family. May he fly high and rest his soul. ❤️🙏❤️🙏

My dad was the person to always make you smile. Every time I was having a day or had a bad game he would always tell me to give it 100% the next day, to not let one minor inconvenience get the best of me. He would also tell me that I had to be “chingona” since my dad was “chingon” and I had to keep the legacy going. I will forever cherish our memories, your big bear hugs, and your kisses. It was such a pleasure to serve with you and get to know you as a person. You left quite a lasting impression on those who you went to battle with and I will forever hold our time together deep in my heart. You will be missed.

I met Martin while serving in the Marine Corps, he was a young, motivated, eager to learn and be in charge type of guy. I was a
Sergeant and immediately noticed how he stood out from the rest of the new guys. The seriousness in his demeanor  was just a front for the easy going, fun to be around and friendly type of person he was. His infectious smile always seemed to fill the room and the people around him. 

During the time we served together in combat, he proved to be a very dependable, courageous, thrust-worthy person, always protecting those around him.  It was an honor to serve with such a great man and please Know that my heart is sad and that he will be greatly missed. To his wife and children, although I never met you, know that your husband/dad made a great impact in my life, he was my brother and you are my family, I am sure he is watching over you and will take care  of you. Martin, I am sorry I did not reach out to you in so many years, You were a great Marine a great person and a great friend. I will always remember you and miss you, rest easy my brother and until we meet again, Semper Fi….
