Please accept my heartfelt condolences.  My heart goes out to Wes, Mark's Brother's and extended Alvarado Family. As you navigate through the heavy waves of grief know that you are surrounded by love and support. Your loved one's legacy will continue to shine bright, illuminating the lives of those he touched. I knew Mark as an adversary in a couple of cases in which we both served as attorneys, however, I can truthfully say that he was such a pleasant and cordial adversary and we managed to be friends in spite of the circumstances.  He was a very capable attorney.  My condolences to his family and friends.  Lloyd Robles.

A Tribute to Our Dear Cousin, Mark Alvarado

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved cousin, Mark Alvarado. Though Mark was born in 1958 and I in 1953, we grew up together, surrounded by family and love. While I spent much time with his older brothers, Ray and Tony, Mark was always a steady presence in our lives—kind-hearted, thoughtful, and deeply loved by my parents, my sister, my brother, and me.

Our families were close, often visiting each other, sharing meals, and making memories. In later years, after my father retired from civil service, he worked at a hotel and had the special joy of working side by side with Mark at the front desk. Their bond as uncle and nephew blossomed into a deep friendship filled with mutual admiration and love. My father often spoke with great affection and pride about Mark, and I know Mark felt the same.

One moment that I will always treasure came in 2021 when Mark sent me a message:
“Good morning, Irene! I’m feeling your Father’s love this morning. I thought I would pass it along. I’m praying for all you guys.”
That note touched my heart and showed just how much he valued the connection we all shared.

This message comes from both Rick and me. As a young boy, Rick often accompanied my father on visits to Mark and the family, and those memories remain precious. We admired Mark deeply—for his gentle spirit, his devotion to family, and for keeping in touch with us through the years. His memory will live on in our hearts.

Rest in peace, dear cousin. We love you, we miss you, and we will always cherish the bond we shared.

Mark was our cousin and our friend. We have countless memories of the wonderful times spent with him. It is impossible to express how much we will miss him, especially because we found ourselves smiling and laughing whenever Mark was around. The last few days have been painful for the whole family, but we know Mark is now free of pain and with his parents once again. Rest in peace dear Mark.

Oh Mark--I'm going to miss you.  You made my day better and more fun every time I saw you.  I expect you did the same for everybody else too.  

Wes, Ray, Andrew, Tony, Phil -- I can't imagine how you all feel.  Mark was such a great guy.   I think you all have a special family:  Mark had so many great stories and things to say about all of you.   If any of you ever have a chance to contact me when you are in Austin, please do.  I'd love to share some stories about Mark.

Please excuse me for not being there tomorrow:  I have an elderly father who can't be left alone.  I will, however, be thinking of Mark and you all.  

You all have my deepest sympathy and are in my thoughts and prayers.
