Mario Navarro, of El Paso, TX, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2022. At only 49 years old, he played a formidable role while on this Earth. His wife, children, family, and friends are devastated by the loss of such an extraordinary man.
Mario was born on Friday the 13th of April, 1973, a fact he loved to share. He graduated from Eastwood High School and later attended NMSU and UTA. Mario broke the mold with his optimistic outlook and unique approach to creating a life worth living. Throughout his life, he prided himself on loyalty and hard work–which was particularly evident in his career as a conductor for the railroad. Countless stories abound of his passion for skateboarding, golfing, mountain biking, and his love for motorcycles and outdoor adventures. Mario particularly valued his friendships and was known by many as having spoken in movie quotes and endless jokes, with a contagious laugh. He was dedicated, first and foremost, to his wife and children, yet described by many as the guy one could count on to be there for anyone at any time.
Those who knew him understood that under a tapestry of artwork and his amazingly unique style, was a tactful and clever man who could wordsmith his way out of any situation. His love for life and ability to effortlessly balance work, family, and friends led to days filled with amazing adventures, endless travel ambitions, and beautiful memories–all paired with music blaring from his speaker, especially his favorite band, The Beatles. Of all his accomplishments, he was most proud of his kids, whom he had many dreams for. His unwavering commitment to his wife and children was apparent in everything he did and he often spoke excitedly about his future alongside Monique and seeing Matix and Mia grow up and achieve their goals.
Mario is survived by his wife, Monique, son, Matix, daughter, Mia, and chocolate lab, Hazel. He leaves behind his father David Navarro, mother, Elizabeth Flores, and many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Stay gold, Mario. Stay gold.
