Marie Price Montoya was born October 8, 1936, in El Paso, TX, daughter of the late Manuel Ybarra Jr. and Socorro Garcia Ybarra, passed away at the age of 84 Thursday evening on January 28, 2021.
She was a graduate of Loretto Academy, an educator and a lifelong member of the Saint Francis Xavier Parish where she was a lector and a catechist. She enjoyed reading especially her beloved Nicholas Sparks novels and was skillful at solving crossword puzzles. She found joy in spending time with her family and friends and always looked forward to Sunday mass and eating breakfast afterwards.
She is survived by her sister Susie Roman (Javier), her daughter Selina Marie Montoya and her three sons, Peter Anthony Montoya (Carmen), Michael Alfred Montoya and Saul Rene Montoya (Lila).
She was a loving grandmother to her four granddaughters Marisol Dianna Solis, Cassandra C Montoya, Michelle Marie Montoya, Daphne Aida Montoya and her five grandsons Juan Solis Jr (Brenda), Salvador Bustos Jr (Gynna), Rick Olivas (Denise), Dominic Rene Montoya, and Christian David Montoya.
She was beloved by her eight great grandsons, Daniel Aaron Avitia, Evan Andrew Avitia, Juan Solis III, Santino Solis, Matthew Alexander Bustos and Sebastian Ezra Bustos, Ricky Olivas and Frankie Olivas; and her nephew Samuel Marquez and great nephew Anthony Marquez.
She will be missed by many family and friends who enjoyed her company, stories and sense of humor.
Services will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina, El Paso, TX on Feb 15, 2021.
