Marie (Annette) Antoinette Barrueta

Marie Antoinette (Annette) Barrueta, 74, of El Paso, TX, passed away at her home on Friday, September 22, 2017 in Katy, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Maria Antonieta Barrueta and her beloved grandmother Maria Luisa Close.

Annette was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was born in El Paso on September 29, 1942 and graduated from Loretto Academy in 1960 where she made many of her lifelong friends. For the last 20 years, she has been a real estate agent in Houston specializing in helping numerous first-time homebuyers realize their dream of owning a home. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and showering her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild with an abundance of unconditional love.

Annette is survived by her brothers Mike Barrueta and his wife Blanca and Ernie Barrueta and his wife Cristina; her son Oscar Maldonado Jr. and his wife Helen; her daughter DeeDee Maldonado and her husband Lars; her daughter Becky Zavala and her husband Albert; and eight grandchildren Ryan Smith, Melissa Loof, Michael Loof, Nicholas Loof, Harley Maldonado, Angelique Maldonado, Andrew Zavala, Amanda Zavala; and her great-granddaughter Aria Loof; and three nephews Michael Barrueta, Ernie Barrueta Jr. and Robert Barrueta and two nieces Monica Franco and Patricia Stilley.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 6:00 – 9:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm at Loretto Chapel, 1300 Hardaway. Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 29, 2017 at 9:00am at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa followed by the burial at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4848 Alps.
