Maria Ester Valles Serna, 92 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in El Paso, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents: Rafael and Ysidra Valles; husband: Rafael G. Serna; grandson: Brian C. Serna; and daughter-in-law: Elvia Zavala-Serna. Maria Esther is survived by her children: Hector R. Serna his wife JoAnne, Sam C. Serna, David R. Serna his wife Rocio and Victor M. Serna; 4 grandchildren: Hector R. Serna II, Vanessa J. Serna, Anthony R. Serna and Joel G. Serna. She was a proud Graduate of Bowie High School Class of 1943. A loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother, that will forever live in our Hearts. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 9:15 am on Monday, September 22, 2014 at San Jose Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
