Maria Lourdes Pagan was born Maria Lourdes Nava in Gomez Palacios, Durango, Mexico on February 11, 1938. Both of her parents were from Mexico, and she was the oldest of ten children. She then met and married Carlos Enrique Pagan, and they had seven children. After marriage, Maria moved from Juarez, Mexico to El Paso where she would live the rest of her life.
Maria’s life started very humbly but flourished into a very full life of motherhood. Maria from a very young age helped with the raising of her siblings. She then raised her own children and helped them with her grandchildren. Later in her life she enjoyed the company of her great grandchildren too.
For those of us that have the privilege of surviving her, we are honored and grateful she was our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her remaining children, Gloria E. Rivera (Manuel Rivera, Jr.), Rebecca Pagan, Yesenia Pagan and Carlos E. Pagan Jr. (Martha Pagan). She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
She will then be laid to rest at Mount Carmel Cemetery located at 401 S Zaragoza Rd, where her husband, Carlos; daughter, Lidia Hernandez; daughter, Maria Luisa Amaeufula; and son Tommy Pagan, also rest.
