Maria Elena Ortega de Washington, age 85, of El Paso, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Maria was born November 26, 1936 to Concepcion H. Ortega and Damaso Ortega.
Maria is survived by her husband, Andrew N. Washington; her daughter Alma Torres (John); and her daughter Elizabeth Washington (Juan); her grandchildren Christopher LeVey Jr., Anthony LeVey, Julian LeVey, Iris Washington, Maria Elena Ruiz, Isidro Ruiz, Danielson Ruiz and Juan Ruiz Jr.
Maria was preceded in death by her son Jorge Andres Washington; her mother Concepcion H. Ortega and her father Damaso Ortega.
Visitation for Maria will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Vigil at 6:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral mass will be 9:00 AM on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2709 Alabama. Committal Service to follow at 10:30 AM at Ft Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson, El Paso, Texas 79906.
