Maria R. Natividad is at peace with our Lord Jesus Christ. After attending Jefferson High School, Maria met Norberto, to whom she was married for 65 years. Maria retired from William Beaumont Army Medical Center in 1993 where she worked as a dietetic technician. She was an avid gardener and often stated that gardening was her therapy. She loved to cook for her extended family and created a Christmas tradition of baking biscochos with her children and grandchildren. Her annual cooking of menudo was much anticipated. Maria is preceeded in death by her husband Norberto Natividad, parents Jose and Petra Mijares, brothers Raul Minjarez Sr. and Rafael Mijares, daughter Josephine and grandson Norbert. She is survived by her daughters: Rebecca (James) Haynes, Elizabeth (Joe) Arellano and Irene (Don) Espinoza, brothers Jose and Hector Mijares and sisters Marcelina Alvarado, and Sofia Aguirre. She is survived by six grandchildren: Sergio, Amanda, Valerie, Natalie, Steven, Nicole and five great grandchildren: Hannah, Amorette, Chenille, Ava, and Roman. Maria’s favorite color was blue, so we ask that blue be worn in her honor.
