Maria De La Paz Morrado-Hoover, aka Maria Suarez, perished on June 29, 2023, with her son, Richard Lee Morrado by her side. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ken L. Hoover "Bus", a horse owner & trainer; mother Beatrice Morrado; brother Manuel Suarez Jr. & sister Cecilia Ronquillo. She is survived by her brother Sonny Morales & sisters Elvira Rodriguez & Delfina Lujan.
Paz, adopted at a young age, lived a life of giving & found solace in locating her brothers & sisters who had been separated. She joined the U.S. Army in June 1955 & was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. She was a proud Bowie Bear, businesswoman, LULAC member & graciously remained a strong willed & helpful spirit to anyone in need.
A visitation & rosary with military honors will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (rosary at noon) at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave., followed by a mass at Saint Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N Mesa St., at 2:00 p.m.
