Beloved mother, grandmother, and cousin entered into eternal rest at her home peacefully surrounded by family and friends on July 13, 2024. Terry was a testament of her boundless love and her unwavering Faith and courage. She was big-hearted, vibrant, and radiated light wherever she went. Her warmth and compassion touched everyone she met and her smile was contagious as she accepted all with an open heart and open arms. Terry had an immense passion for her family and friends and bestowed blessings in abundance to all of us. She loved singing, dancing, entertaining, cooking, and traveling. She always looked forward to visiting relatives and friends in California, Chicago and El Norteño at every opportunity she had. Terry was also a dedicated and proud Dallas Cowboy fan.

Terry grew up in Delicias, Chihuahua and at the age of five, came to El Paso where she eventually built her home. She was in the first graduating class from South Loop Elementary and graduated from Ysleta High School. She went on to have a successful career working and retiring from AT&T, formerly known as Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Along the way, she formed many lifelong friendships that she considered more as family than friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents Manuel and Elisa Garcia, and daughter Yvonne Gomez-Lopez.

She is survived by her daughter Yvette Gomez. Siblings Lorenza Alvarez, Francis Alarcon, Myrna Kelsey, Raymundo Garcia, Santiago Garcia, and three grandchildren Gerardo Noriega, Alondra Lopez, Giovanni Lopez, and an extensive family who loves her dearly.

Terry’s legacy of love, faith and kindness will continue to live in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. While we mourn the loss of our sweet and beloved Terry, we take comfort in knowing she will rest in peace.

John 11: 25-26 Jesus says, "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die".

A visitation for Maria will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936. A vigilia will occur Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936. A misa funebre will occur Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N. Clark Drive, El Paso, Texas 79905. A sepelio will occur Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Mt Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.
