Maria Socorro Gandara

Maria Socorro Gandara, age 78, Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away February 24, surrounded by family and friends. She was born April 17, 1943 to Juan and Juana Esparza Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Gandara, brothers Alejandro, Jose, Ricardo and Gilberto Martinez. Maria was orphaned at an early age so is now with her parents and resting in her mother’s arms.

She is survived by her sons Raul Gonzalez of San Diego, Armando Gonzalez and Jose Gandara of El Paso, 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many other members of her extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00pm, Monday, March 14th, with Rosary at 7:00pm, at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue. Funeral Mass will be 12:30pm Tuesday, March 15th, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, 3021 Frutas Avenue. Committal service to follow at 2:00pm at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
