Maria Luisa Armenta

Maria Luisa Armenta went to sleep peacefully surrounded by her children and awoke with her Chuyito (her nickname for Jesus) on Tuesday, August 7 at the age of 91. It was her wish to live only as many years as her mother and to pass away in her sleep. Mom always got what she wanted. She is survived by her children whom she loved without measure Neno Armenta, Magda Montoya, Violeta Romero and Gerardo Armenta, sons –in-law whom she also adored Isaac (mi capitan), Jose Luis Romero (mi amor) and her daughter-in-law Lety Armenta (mija). Also surviving her are her sisters Esther Becerra, Enriqueta Becerra, Rosa Emma Ferguson and Julieta Williams. Known as Grandma, Grandma Jerry and Gigi she also leaves 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was blessed with wonderful friends and neighbors who are also left to cherish her memory. Pall bearers will be her children, sons-in-laws and grandsons. Visitation will be held Sunday August 12 from 5 to 9 pm with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Central. Mass will be held Monday August 13 at 9:30 a.m. at Guardian Angel Catholic Church 3021 Frutas Ave. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
