Margie Louise Torres, 75, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 in El Paso, Texas. She was the wife of Charles Frederick Torres. They shared 55 wonderful years together. She was born in Portland, Maine on March 8, 1947.
She was the daughter of Theodore "Ted" and Muriel "Mickey" Blackwell. She was an alumnus of Andress High School and the University of Texas at El Paso. Margie successfully managed and operated a well-loved firm alongside the late Lowell Nussbaum, for 30+ years.
She enjoyed traveling across the world and maintained a second home in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex in order to be closer to her two daughters and their families. She will be remembered for her passionate ability to represent and support her clients.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Torres, daughters: Melinda "Mindy" Worthey and Melissa "Missy" Slavin, their spouses: Ryan Worthey and Mark Slavin, grandchildren: Kailee Merrill, Caden Worthey, Makayla Olivarez, John Slavin, Amelia Slavin, Daniella Slavin and Avalynn Slavin; great-grandchildren Beaux Merrill and baby Merrill (on the way) and brother, Theodore "Ted" Blackwell Junior. She will also be terribly missed by her feline children: Cookie and Molly. Margie was predeceased by her mother Mickey Blackwell, father Ted Blackwell and brother James Blackwell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, Texas 79912
