Margaret McKee Lund, age 96, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 7, 2016. She was born on May 12, 1919 to Robert E. and Gladys Evelyn McKee in El Paso, Texas. She was lovingly known as “Sis” or Aunt Sis” to her family and friends. She was a quiet giver and proud to be an El Pasoan.
She represented the city of El Paso as the Fourth Annual Sun Carnival Queen in 1939. This truly was an honor and highlight in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert E. McKee Sr. and Gladys Evelyn McKee; brothers Robert E. McKee Jr., C.D. McKee, John S. McKee, James W. McKee and Philip S. McKee, and sister Frances M. Hays.
She is survived by her daughter Helen L. Yancey, husband David A. Yancey, and grandson Garrett J. Yancey, who was the light of her life from the minute he was born. She is also survived by her brother Louis B. McKee, numerous nieces and nephews, and her lifelong best friend of almost ninety years, Margaret B. Daeuble.

Funeral service to be held Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at St. Clement’s Church – McKee Chapel 10:30 am. A Graveside service is to follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley.
Pallbearers: Mr. Charles G. Anderson, Mr. Stephen Good, Mr. Rocklyn Lynch, Mr. Richard McLaughlin, Dr. John S. McKee, Dr. Sanford T. Ward, Mr. Linden R. Welsch and Mr. Garrett J. Yancey.
