Manuel L. “Manny” Chavez, 57, was called forth from this earth to the glory of God on January 1, 2015 at the age of 57. Manuel the second youngest of seven siblings was preceded in death by his parents, Serapio Q. and Manuela L. Chavez. Born in Ysleta, Texas and a graduate of Ysleta High School, Manuel lived in El Paso his whole life. Working as a successful car salesman, he was very knowledgeable, caring, and charismatic. Manuel loved sports and the Dallas Cowboys were his favorite team. He loved music. Manuel used to play the saxophone in the high school band as well as his brothers’ band. He is survived by brothers, John (Irma) Guerra, Luis (Cathy), and Serapio L. Chavez and sisters Martha (Raymond) Guerra, Teresa Mendoza (L), and Carmen (Greg) Vandersteen. He had numerous nephews, nieces, grand-nephew, cousins, and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, Rosary at 9:30 am, Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Thursday, January 8, 2015 San Lorenzo Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
