Mae Pearl Mull, age 90, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 10, 2022. She was born in Gormon, TX on March 24, 1932 to Virgil & Viola Culbertson & grew up in the small community of Beatty, TX along with her sister Ima Gene & her brothers, Berry & Lee Roy. She had many fond memories of her life there & continued to visit “the farm” often. She moved to El Paso, TX in 1958 & retired from Lifeway Bookstore where she made many friends throughout the years. She taught the “Joy” Sunday school class at Tigua Baptist Church touching the lives of many special needs families.
She lived out the unconditional love of Jesus to everyone who knew her. She showed mercy & grace to those around her & continually thought of others before herself. She found great joy in bringing family together. Her home was always opened to family dinners & holiday gatherings. She treasured memories of making Christmas candy with her grandma & she carried that tradition through generations.
She married her childhood sweetheart, C.L. Mull, at the age of 15 & continued in her devotion to him for 25 years after his death.
Together, they are survived by two daughters, Theresa Jones (Mike) & Becky Melin (David) of El Paso, TX, seven grandchildren, Kimbra Macias (Primo) of Austin, TX, Michelle Zenor (Charles) of Jacksonville, TX, Carrie Graham (Tom) of Roswell, NM, Charles Melin (Ana) of El Paso, TX, Cheryl Stewart (Dwayne) of Hutto, TX, Cherish & Abby Melin of El Paso, TX, ten great grandchildren & one great-great grandson as well as beginning a legacy of fostering that has continued through four generations.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband C. L. Mull, their baby boy Lenny, her brother Lee Roy Culbertson, brother in law Bob Caraway, & sister in law Vinna Culbertson.
Visitation will be held October 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral service officiated by Pastor Ron Fox at 12:00 at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive and graveside at Rest Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Melin, Primo Macias, Tom Graham, Dwayne Stewart, Mike Zenor, Justin Liffner.
