Luz Beard

On May 19, 2016 our beloved mother, Luz Beard, was called home to be with the Lord. She was born in Smelterown TX on February 18, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Efrain Beard. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived her life unselfishly always putting her family’s needs before her own. We were blessed to be raised and loved unconditionally by her. She was a devout Catholic with incredible faith in the Lord and a tower of strength to her family. Left to cherish her memory are her six children, Dora Gamez(Carlos), Dolores Romero(Fred), Efrain Beard Jr., Olga Beard(Sonny), Robert Beard(Amy), Rita Beard(Arron), 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, as well as many friends and neighbors and her beloved schnauzer and tabby cat. To say that she will be greatly missed is an understatement. The void left behind in our hearts will be impossible to fill; she was loved greatly by all who knew her. Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Syed Yusoof for his excellent and tender care of our beloved mom. Also like to thank Dr. Juan Felipe Fernandez and staff and Romana her RN. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 24th from 5pm to 9pm with vigil at 7pm at Martin Funeral Home Central 3839 Montana. Funeral mass will be Wednesday, May 25th at 9:15am at Our Lady of the Light 4700 Delta with interment following at Ft Bliss National Cemetery 5200 Fred Wilson.
