He is survived by his beloved wife, Emma S. Villa, with whom he shared a long and beautiful life, married for 69 blissful years. He is also survived by his 5 children, Luis M Villa Jr, (Victoria), Sylvia Esparza (Miguel), Darlina Nazario (JP), Christine De La Cruz (Jim), Francisco Villa (Tracey) and his two Sisters, Alicia Villa and Teresa Villa Ramirez as well as his 12 Grandchildren, and 16 Great-Grandchildren.
He was born in El Paso, Texas on August 14, 1934 where he lived his entire life. The son of Francisco G. and Isabel H. Villa, and brother to Javier Villa, Frank Villa, Alicia Villa and Teresa Villa Ramirez.
Louie led an extraordinary life, he attended Burleson Elementary-Middle School and proudly graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1952 as a Silver Fox; he participated in the Marching Band, the String Orchestra, and the ROTC Band where he was a Cadet Officer. There at Jefferson is where Louie met the love of his life, Emma. With his musical talents, Louie was member of the Teen Timers Rock and Roll Band where he played trumpet, piano, and the accordion and performed in many parties and functions throughout El Paso.
Louie was an honest, hardworking, and ethical man; he attended Texas Western College (UTEP) before his employment with Pepsi Cola, where he retired after 44 years. Louie also enjoyed playing and coaching softball and was part of the Pepsi Cola team and many other local teams. He loved watching sports, always cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, his favorite team.
Louie was a family man, he never missed his children’s and grandchildren’s Christmas recitals, band performances, sporting events; loved family gatherings and functions always filling us with his wonderful stories and valued advice, bringing happiness and smiles to all. His family was blessed to have his musical talents influence, life lessons, sound advice and unconditional love. He encouraged his family to become lifelong learners and to pursue their personal dreams and goals. His passion for reading was one of many attributes he instilled in us.
Louie’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, and the memories and smiles shared by those fortunate enough to cross his path. Let us celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the love he generously gave. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration in the days ahead.
A visitation for Luis will be held Monday, July 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Dr, El Paso TX 79915. Funeral mass will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N. Clark Dr, El Paso TX 79905. Funeral services will follow at Mt Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd, EL Paso, TX 79907.
