Luis (Lou) Vasquez Jr, age 69, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Las Palmas Hospital in El Paso, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born on October 12, 1951, in El Paso to Luis and Irene Vasquez and was the eldest of four children.
Lou attended Bel Air High School class of 1970 before receiving a Bachelors of Science degree in 1974 and a Masters of Science degree from the University of Texas El Paso in 1977. In June of 1973 he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Dolores Vasquez . It saddens us to announce that Pat also passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021, surrounded by her family at Providence Hospital, only five days after Louie’s death.
Lou's career spanned many fields, including microbiology and marketing, but his impact was largely felt as a teacher at Coronado High School.
Louie is survived by his mother Irene Vasquez, his brothers Danny and Andy Vasquez, his sister Ana Scruggs, his son John-Michael (wife-Dr. Larisa Vasquez), his daughter Sandra, and grandchildren; Dominic, Jacquelyn, Dillon, Ace, Julian and Lexi.
Louie loved life, he loved to bowl, and he truly cherished his family.
Family and Friends are invited to the services for Louie and Pat on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at Hillcrest Funeral Home located at 5054 Doniphan Dr., El Paso, Texas.
