Luis "Chicho" Macias, 91, entered eternal life on April 17, 2015 in El Paso, Texas. Luis served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II veteran. He proudly retired after serving 34 years for the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss as warehouse supervisor. Chicho was preceded in death by his mom, Catalina Macias; sister, Lucy Cano; brothers Bruno "Tony" and Jose "Pepe"; and son-in-law, George Hernandez. He is survived by his beloved "Baby" and wife of 65 years, Amparo; proud daughter and grandsons, Irma, George Jr. and Steven Louis; loving sister, Frances Vasquez, and brother, Armando; and many caring family members. Special appreciation to Hospice of El Paso family and caregivers Maria and Juanita. Grandpa enjoyed reading, traveling, playing pool, doing handy work, watching his Cowboys play, spending time with his grandsons, and dancing at Bowie tardeadas. His fun-loving, generous, family-oriented, cheerful spirit will always be cherished!! We truly miss and love you very much "Daddy", Grandpa, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Compa, and Friend! God blessed us with his incredible love for life! Rest in peace and keep your warm smile constantly shining upon us! Visitation will be at Del Angel Martin Central, 3839 Montana, on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 5-9pm with rosary service at 7pm. Funeral mass will take place on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 9:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church followed by interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 10am.
