Luis L. Herrera

LUIS L. HERRERA, 92 a native of El Paso, Texas went to Heaven to be with His Savior on 11 Dec 13. Mr. Herrera was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grand father, who cherished his family. He was born April 5, 1921, to Aurelio and Carlotta L. Herrera. Luis proudly served during WWII, and after completing his military service, he came home and married his wife of over forty years Tomasita. Subsequently he began a career with The El Paso Water Utilities, retiring in 1980 after 29 years. Luis had since enjoyed a happy retirement with his family. Luis will be remembered for the love of his family and his big heart. He is survived by daughter Nellie (David) Ramos, son Luis G. (Esther) Herrera Jr., step-daughters; Irma (Tony) Amador, Maria Luisa Chavez, and many great and grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Guillermo L. (Carmen) Herrera, sister Virginia L. Franceware. Mr. Herrera is preceded in death by his parents, wife Tomasita, step-son Antonio Madrid, two sisters and seven brothers. The family is very thankful to the entire Staff at the St. Teresa Nursing Center for the personal care provided to Mr. Herrera. Visitation will be Dec 17 from 5-9 PM, with rosary at 7 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central. Mass will be Dec 18 at 9:15 AM at Guardian Angel with interment to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with military honors.
