On December 13, 2016, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, called to heaven a loyal soldier, Lorenzo Bustamante, at the age of 89. Lorenzo, also known and loved by many as "Lench", was a lifelong El Pasoan, beloved husband and friend, and devoted family man. Lorenzo was preceded in death by his parents Miguel and Calixtra Bustamante and brother Armando Bustamante Sr. He is survived by his wife, Josefina Bustamante, siblings, Enriqueta and Mike Bustamante Jr. and children, Dolores Jaime (Rudy), Maria Maylo Chavez (Frank), Larry Bustamante (Ann) and Paul Bustamante (Lety). Lorenzo has 12 beautiful grandchildren, 26 wonderful great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bustamante was born on September 5, 1927, in El Paso, Texas and would have celebrated his 67th wedding anniversary on December 21, 2016. He is a veteran and served his country as a medic in the Army Air Corp and retired as a civil service employee at Fort Bliss. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16 at the Hillcrest Funeral Home on Carolina from 5 PM to 9 PM. Recitation of the Rosary will follow at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Cristo Rey Church on Saturday, December 17 at 10 AM. Interment at Fort Bliss Cemetery to be determined following cremation.
