Lilia R. Barraza was born to Abel and Lilia Rodriguez on March 3, 1953 and found peace on March 29, 2017. She is survived by: her husband, Fernando J. Barraza Jr.; children, Christina and René Barraza; brothers, César (Magdalena) and Eduardo Rodriguez; sister, Anita Johndro; brother-in-law, Daniel Barraza; and sister-in-law, Thelma (Sam) Nuñez. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Lily worked for social services before becoming a loving and devoted full-time mother. She returned to work at YISD as an educator continuing to spread care and support for those most in need in her community. In her final months, her selfless spirit and eternal grace persevered even in the face of great adversity. Nurturing, creative, and witty— she will always be remembered for bringing smiles and warmth to the family and friends that surrounded her. The Barraza would especially like to thank Laura Delgado and Cynthia Egger for their dedication and support making Lily’s final days as tranquil and joyous as possible. Visitation will be Monday, April 3rd from 5 pm to 9 pm at F.D.A. Martin East, 1460 George Dieter Drive, with a vigil at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, April 4th at 10 am at St. Rapheal Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Road, followed by a Committal Service at 11:30 am at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to F.D.A.
