Leticia lived an extraordinary life filled with travel, laughter, and love. Leticia had a huge heart and a passion for teaching children, which drove her to spend over 20 years as a substitute teacher at Red Sands Elementary, and over 30 years as a volunteer for Clint ISD. Leticia loved going to work every day, even if she didn’t get paid and just volunteered. She loved her interactions with the faculty and staff at Red Sands, but what she loved the most was spending time with the students.
One of Leticia’s biggest joys was when her elementary school “babies” would recognize or seek her out and run up to say ‘hello’ with a big hug, or to thank her for being there for them. Although my mother was a substitute teacher, she still managed to make a lasting impression on many students.
Always the first to make people smile, Leticia always tried to fill everyone’s life around her with love, joy, and positivity. Leticia loved spending time with her sisters, family, and especially her grandson Tony. An avid traveler, Leticia would never shy away from a trip and always had her bags packed. Today she continues to travel and to be with us the people she loved. Leticia leaves behind her loving husband Lorenzo, sons Roberto and Jorge, and Grandson Antonio.
