Leroy Olson

He was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, on June 8th 1926. Survived by his wife of 58 years Ona Lee Olson; daughter, September Olson of El Paso; son, Michael Olson & wife Cecilia of Anthony, New Mexico; son, Russell Olson & wife Lauren of Weston,Florida; six grandchildren; Katherine, Keenan, Marissa, and Travis of Anthony, New Mexico, and Marc and Scott of Weston, Florida. Lee, as he was called, was a member of the PGA of America for 52 years. He was very active in the local organization and was instrumental in the establishment of the Sun Country Section of the PGA. He served his country in the Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged. He graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Journalism. A member of the Master Gardeners of El Paso he enjoyed participating in their programs. There will be a “Celebration of Life” for Lee at a later date.
