Dearest Louis and Family,
Thank you for sharing June with me for those few days in Az. a few months ago.
She was very sick, but that didn't stop her from wanting to be on the go. I will never forget the dinner we had and how much she loved the music from the 40's, every time a song was played, her face would light up. Curtis and I were in there the night before June passed. I said to Curtis, this will always be a special place for me, as I was able to share it with June & Louis.
My heart is with all of you today. Wishing you peace and comfort.

While I was at UTEP, I saw June from time to time and knew she was a wise and caring soul who touched everyone she would meet with her kindness and thoughtful ways.  I could see the effect she had on you, Mike and Sandy and what a great family you built together.   Eric and I are deeply saddened by your loss and we are grieving with you.  I think she would want everyone not to grieve but celebrate the wonderful memories from the time she was here.

Dear Louis and family,
I can't yet imagine what it's going to be like without our dear friend, June.  I met her in 6th grade--that was over 50 years ago!  When you returned to El Paso, it was just great getting to know her all over again.  She was the glue that held all us six grade GE's (Golden Eagles) together--planning in detail what we were going to do, where we would be going, or learning how to play poker.  I loved June! I now have the assurance that she has been delivered from the effects of her cancer.  Mark and I are sure that you will miss her dearly too, but our prayer is that the peace of the Lord will be with you!

Dear Louis and Family, We are so sorry to learn of June's passing. Both of you were such good friends and so kind in many ways, especially when we all lived in College Station. We fondly remember our visit to El Paso a few years ago. Justin, our eldest, remembers hanging out with Mike. Dennis and Sunny O'Neal, recently from College Station, now residing in Waco.

I think I could write a book about June, my dear friend.  She and her twin Dorothy were my first and best friends when I moved to El Paso from Louisiana.  I don't think I would have survived here without them.  We were friends from 5th grade until after graduation and on until our lives went different directions with family and children.  By the grace of God I was able to renew my friendship with June when Louis and June moved back to El Paso.  I am so thankful that I had this time with her.  Like with an old friend it was like we had never been apart.  I can't even express how much I am going to miss her.  I am so sad for Louis their children and grandchildren, her sisters, their children and her parents.  June loved them all so much, was so proud of all of them.  My prayers are with all of you and I hope you know if you need me I am a phone call away.  Annette Holmes

The very little I knew of June, I knew through you Louis; the way you dressed, the way you helped your colleagues and friends, your strength of character, your values - all these came from June. You never missed an opportunity to talk about June, Louis. Your words "I can't ever imagine not being married (to June)" still ring in my ears. I am so sorry Louis.
