Julio was born in El Paso to Julio and Guillerma Rocha on April 7, 1925. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. During World War II, Julio was captured by the Germans, but managed to escape with six others. Eventually, they reached the American lines, and three days later, Julio was back in front line action. On December 28, 1944, he was wounded in Luxembourg, France after the German break through there (Excerpt-El Paso Times, Southwestern Roll of Honor). He is a recipient of the European-African Middle Eastern Theater Medal with three Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, and was Honorably Discharged on August 14, 1945. He retired from Fort Bliss Commissary in 1985 and continued dedicating his incredibly rare traits in Real Estate business until his death. Julio was the owner/operator of his property Management Company established in 1969. He was passionate about dancing, fishing and traveling in his RV. His was a life well lived.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years and mother of all his children, Julieta A. Rocha, and his daughter, Rosa Hughes.
He is survived by his sons, Robert, Andres (Andy), David, and Julio A. Rocha, all of El Paso, Texas, Guillermo Rocha of San Antonio, Texas, Felipe Rocha of Austin, Texas, daughters, Sylvia King of Winchester, Kentucky and Julie Curran of Bristow, Virginia.

The Rocha family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Martin East Chapel. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 11:00 am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Interment will immediately follow Military Honors.
