He was born on October 29, 1939, in Berino, New Mexico to Manuel & Bertha Saenz. Juan is preceded in death by his parents, various siblings, and family members. He is survived by his loving wife, Felicitas who stood by his side for 56 years, daughter Deborah, sons Eduardo (Jeannie) & John (Suzanne), grandson Erwin Estaura, and many beloved family members and friends.
Juan proudly served in the Army from 1957 to 1960. After his discharge, he worked until he returned to further his education at The University of Texas El Paso and received his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1975. This education allowed him to work with the Texas Workforce Commission and National Credit Union Administration as a tax auditor until his retirement from each agency.
Although he had serious demeanor, his kindness, sense of humor, unwavering support, and continuous encouragement was something he loved to share with everyone. One of his favorite things was dressing up and being Santa’s helper during the Christmas holidays. He was a part of a Secret Santa program for many years that allowed him to share the magic of Christmas with many children who otherwise would not have that experience. Juan was a grand storyteller, and even though he may have told the same stories more than once, he always lit up when he remembered and shared his tales with anyone who would listen. It is with great pride that his legacy will live on through his wife, children, grandson, and family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Juan’s memorial services on Monday June 24, 2024, at Funeraria Del Angel Central El Paso, TX. Visitation will begin at 8:30 am; Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am, and Military Honors will be at 10:45 am. A procession to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church will follow for the 12:00 pm celebration of the funeral mass.
