Born in Douglas, AZ on October 7, 1940, but grew up in Tucson, AZ where he graduated from Tucson H.S. in 1959. In September of 1960, he joined the California Army National Guard where he proudly and honorably served his country for 40 years. While attending school at the Fort Bliss Army Base, he met the love of his life, his beautiful Kinner, on a blind date in the spring of 1964. They were married October 25, 1964 and had 4 wonderful children.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arturo Rubio and Julia Quijada Riser and his loving wife Delia “Kinner” Rubio. He is survived by his brother, Richard Rubio (Pat); children, David, Steve, Annette and Valerie Rubio. His life revolved around his 10 grand-children and 6 great grand-children. He loved his sports and was a loyal fan of the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Dodgers. We would like to thank Hospice of El Paso for showing compassion and taking great care of our Dad.
