Juan Novoa, our beloved and blessed father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2021. Born in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico on October 1, 1927, Juan was a friend to all and a passionate musician.
He was rarely without his saxophone, which he used to entertain family and friends anytime and anywhere for over 70 years. Juan’s love of music left an everlasting impression on his sons and grandchildren, and his music will live on through them. He also instilled his work ethic in his sons, often working two jobs to support his family. Juan was married to the love of his life, Anita, and they shared 55 years of marriage together.
Juan is preceded in death by Anita and his son, Juan Manuel (Elvira). He is survived by his sons Fernando (Mona), Armando (Olga), Roberto (Irene) and Ricardo.
Juan is also survived by his 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 21 from 5-9PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Dr. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 7PM. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00AM Wednesday, September 22 at San Antonio de Padua Church, 503 Hunter Dr.
Juan’s pallbearers will be his grandsons: Juan Jose, Paul, Phillip, Daniel, Vincent, Neil, and Brian Novoa. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd.
