Josephine C. Sanchez

Josephine C. Sanchez was born on January 13, 1940 and raised in El Paso, Texas. She peacefully passed, surrounded by her loving family on February 9, 2024 at the age of 84 in San Antonio, Texas. Her body simply could not continue to contain the love she had for life and her family.

She took great pride in the upbringing of her daughters as a single mother. She also spent much of her life caring for other members of her family, helping raise them. She was often referred to as a "baby whisperer" which spanned three generations of love and attention. Her smile and laughter would fill a room with love, and will be greatly missed. She had a wonderful sense of humor and cherished the simple things in life.

She lived a full life, having travelled but also devoting herself to her family. Those that survive her and are left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Yvonne Angelique Chavez-Wilson, her son-in-law, Steven Wilson and her youngest daughter, Nancy Joyce Gutierrez, son-in-law, Ray Gutierrez and her sister, Lillian Lopez, along with many of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and extended family.

She was preceded in death and now joins her mother, Maria C Tellez, her daughter, Gracie Priscilla Sanchez and her sister, Mary Lou Ortiz among other members of her family.

While we wait to meet again in Heaven, a Rosary will be held at Del Angel Funeral Home 12400 Montana El Paso, Texas on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 6:00pm.

The mass will be conducted at St. Joseph's Church, 3729 Hueco Avenue, El Paso, Texas on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 12:30pm, followed with her Interment at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana Avenue El Paso, Texas at 2:00pm.

The pallbearers will be Richard Chavez, Richie Chavez, Carlos Gamboa, Ray Gutierrez, Mark Manzanares, Joe Ortiz and Steven Wilson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Indraneel Mogarala of San Antonio and his staff, as well as the nursing staff and aids at St. Luke's Baptist Hospital for their expertise, care and compassion.
