Josefina Montoya

Josefina was born March 31, 1929, was a lifetime resident of El Paso, Texas and a member of the Catholic Church. She graduated from Saint Joseph Academy in 1946. After graduating, she worked at Goodyear Tire Company and El Paso Tire for over 40 years, retiring as Office Manager. Josefina enjoyed music, dancing, crocheting, knitting, word puzzles, genealogical research and especially spending time with family and friends. We will miss the Wednesday and Saturday family gatherings around the kitchen table.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Jose Montoya, parents Jesus and Liduvina Pinon Carrillo, sisters Graciela Carrillo and Herlinda Ortiz, and granddaughter Sara Gonzalez.

Left to cherish her memory are sons Jose (Ana) of El Paso, TX, Edmundo (Sandy) of Elmwood, IL, and Carlos (Mayra) of San Jose, CA; daughters Elia (Charles) Medina of El Paso, TX, and Eva (Gerardo) Gonzalez of Allen, TX; sisters Sabina Moeller of El Paso, TX, and Olga Ysela Martin of Oceanside, CA; brothers Raul, Jesus and Jaime Carrillo of El Paso, TX; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. We love you Mom and will miss you forever.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her nurse Belinda and caregivers Sandra, Lupe and Corina for their kind and compassionate care.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charitable organization of your choice.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 4, from 5:00 to 7:00pm with recitation of the Rosary beginning at 6:00pm at Funeral Del Angel Central (Martin Central), 3839 Montana Ave., El Paso, TX 79903. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 5, at 9:30am at St. Joseph’s Church, 1315 Travis, El Paso. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery for immediate family only due to Covid-19 restrictions.
