Jose Leonardo Sanchez

Jose Leonardo Sanchez (Joe), age 79, was born in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico on November 6, 1943, went peacefully from his El Paso, Texas home to his heavenly home, on June 4, 2023.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Evangelina H. Sanchez, his baby son, Jose Leonardo Sanchez Jr., his father, Marcelo Sanchez Sr., his mother, Pilar Macias Sanchez, and brother Marcelo Sanchez Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Eva Veronica Saorrono, Claudia Esmeralda Sanchez, grandchildren, Miguel Antonio Saorrono, Richard Xavier and Alyssa Nadine Gudiatis, brother, Juan Benito Sanchez, caretaker Ray Gomez, numerous loved relatives, good friends and faithful companion, Buddy.

He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Strong in his catholic faith, lived a happy life with no regrets, hardworking man of few words but a big heart and always ready to help anyone in need, especially his family.

He grew up in the segundo barrio, went to Bowie H. S., served in the United States Army, worked at Farah and Diversified parking, where he retired in 2020, but never fully retired, with always finding something to do around the house. Loved dancing and listening to his oldies, watching the Cowboys play and cherished his 1967 Camaro. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Jose will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A rosary will occur Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 7:00 PM, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A funeral mass will occur Friday, June 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Williamette Ave, El Paso, Texas 79907. A graveside will occur Friday, June 23, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.
