Jose Esparza Salazar Jr.

Jose joined the US Navy in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1972. He was also in The USF Tripoli and a Vietnam Veteran. He joined The El Paso Fire Department in 1974 and retired in 2003. He also loved to hunt.

Jose is survived by his wife of 10 years, Maria Swinty Salazar; his children Eric R Swinty (Estefania), Jacob M Swinty; John A Swinty, Joel Salazar (Rozilynn), Joe Salazar (Nora), Venisa Salazar, Erica Fulton (Charles), Rachel Sorhein (Mark), Michelle Salazar, Fernando Salazar (Melody), Victoria Salazar, Araceli Ochoa, and Kathy Summers (Steven); his siblings Carmen Salazar (Martha), Patricia Wofford, Esperanza Ruiz, Guadalupe Salazar, Norma Enriquez (Jose), Maria Laura Salazar, David Salazar, Francisco Salazar Pedro Salazar.

Jose also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren to cherish his memory.

Jose was preceded in death by his son Nathaniel Salazar; his father Jose C Salazar and his mother Pilar Esparza Salazar; his siblings Beatriz Salazar, Armando Salazar, Cecilia Salazar and Maria Esther Salazar.

A visitation for Jose will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936. A prayer service will occur Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:30 AM, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906.
