I remember uncle Pepe would make eggs, bacon, hash brown and cheese on a skillet for abe and I every Sunday morning.
We once went to a bazar with him near loredo high school.  We laughed and had so much tacos that day! 

Miss you, uncle Pepe. I dream of you and aunt Lisa all the time. 

Tell Jesus to watch over us please.

   Not sure if you remember me or not but I served with Joe during our time in the Navy. Joe was my best friend in who I continued to stay in touch with all these years. 

I spoke with Joe just a few days ago and was deeply hurt when I heard about his departure.

I came to El Paso in 1987 and 1988 and had the opportunity to meet several of you and was met by a family of great warmth.

Please know that I will never forget Joe and the friendship he and I had.  I have several pictures of Joe and I that I would be happy to share.

My uncle Abie, Uncle Pepe (Joe) and myself once  all lived on a street called Hastings.   Uncle Joe was standing outside the porch and saw me riding my bike from work.  The sun was coming down and I could see orange and pink rays on his face.  The smell of BBQ steak and wooden chips lingered in the air.  In  a soft voice he said, “What’s happening, Dave?  Have you eaten?”  I remember putting my bike on the porch thinking that the smell of the neighbors BBQ probably got him hungry.  I told him I haven’t eaten and that’s when  Abe pulled up in his white truck.  We all went inside and started talking about work while Abe prepared food.  While we were talking, the power in the neighborhood went out and it was pitch black inside the house.  Abe got a small, white candle and lit it on the table where we were sitting.  We didn’t think Abe would be able to finish cooking as it was very dark.   Little did we know that he had Tempura food ready for us to eat.  We all sat on the table with a single lit candle that casted our shadows on the living room wall.  We ate fried veggies and listened to the funny stories Uncle Joe had to say.  When we said good night to each other, the power suddenly came back on.  It was as if nature and God was giving us an opportunity to truly cherish and enjoy each other, even in times of darkness or in the absence of contemporary ways of living.  

Love you, Uncle Joe.  You’re up with Aunt Lisa, your Father and loved ones. See you again some time, may be on the Voyager.

I’ll miss you, Tio Pepe.  Thanks for all the laughs, stories and memories. I’ll never forget the love you had for dogs, which is something we both had in common. We’ll see each other again some day. 

Joe, it has been many years since you and I got that special opportunity to see each other. Most likely, we chatted and maybe had some laughs. When I learned that you had reached the turning point in your life's odyssey, I was comforted and rejoiced at the thought that you had stepped out of your temporal sphere, and smoothly walked through the welcoming portal of your long-awaited eternal home; to be forever united with the One who whispered your name before you were born. At last, you are safely home with our loving Heavenly Father. I recently saw the movie "Overcomer." To borrow some thoughts from the main character in that movie, it really warmly touches my heart to think that you and I were created and designed by God. Precisely, since He created us, we are not mistakes. Love itself, Jesus, picked us to be His own; hence, we are chosen. The fact that He redeemed us shows that he wants us. Wow, Joe! You are so blessed to be where we want be. We'll catch up with each other again, and we can then chat some more and enjoy some great laughs while we languish peacefully and in total happiness in our Father's love.





Jose I will always remember the good times that you, Ken and I  had on the Indy. You were a great roommate and a true friend.   My favorite memory is when the three of us went to T.J.  Everytime Ken or I would ask you a question,  you didn't answer.   We look around and there you were at a taco stand.   Lot of tacos that night.   I miss you buddy,  I really miss you a lot. 

I’ll miss you Uncle Pepe. I’ll always remember all the great stories and wonderful memories we shared. May you rest with our Savior.
