Jose J. Mendez "Chepo", beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and brother passed away peacefully at home on June 22, 2023 at the age of 89. He was a hardworking electrician and continued working long after he retired around his home and neighborhood helping out family, friends and neighbors. In his free time he enjoyed working on his vehicles, driving to Mexico, around town and eating at his local favorite restaurant. "Celebration of Life and Memorial Service" will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N Carolina Dr. Funeral mass will occur Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, 171 Polo Inn Rd. Burial immediately following at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4848 Alps Dr.
