“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 5:8
Jose Alfredo Magaña Jr., age 46, passed away on April 2, 2025, in El Paso, Texas. He was born on October 20, 1978, in Salinas, California, to Jose Alfredo Magaña Sr. and Rosa Magaña.
Alfredito was raised in El Paso, Texas, and attended Parkland High School. From a young age, he loved working on cars and could often be found under the hood, tuning engines and bringing life back to anything with wheels. He had a deep love for music and lowriders—two passions that truly reflected his vibrant personality.
He was the kind of person who lit up every room. Goofy, funny, and full of life, Alfredito had a heart of gold. He never met a stranger—his kindness and easy smile drew people in, and he made everyone feel like family. He was generous, loving, and deeply rooted in faith, believing in God and in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We find peace knowing he is now walking with Him in heaven.
Alfredito is survived by his children, Alexandra Nicole Elias Magaña and Joshua Alfredo Elias Magaña. He also leaves behind his loving parents, Jose Alfredo Magaña Sr. and Rosa Magaña, and his devoted siblings, Willie Magaña, Vanessa Magaña, and Rebecca Acosta, who will carry his love with them always.
A celebration of Alfredito’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer St, El Paso, Texas.
Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
Fredo—our little big brother—we love you more than words can ever express. Thank you for the laughter, the protection, the music, the memories, and the love you poured into all of us. Your light will never fade, and your spirit will live on in every beat of music, every engine rev, and every moment we share together as a family. Rest easy, and wait for us at heaven’s gates. Until we meet again.
