José fondly known as Pepe had a beautiful soul, kind and genuine to all he came into contact with. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone and everyone if it meant he could see you smile. As many know José was a jokester and loved to goof around. Hence another nickname “Peter Pan”, just a big kid at heart never wanting to grow up. He was a perfectionist as well as the hardest worker known. He worked for what he wanted; but always worked for what his family needed.
José was very proud of his origins and his family; he was always so eager to speak on everyone’s accomplishments and their life.
José held many titles in his life, from Ramp Agent for Southwest Airlines to most recently being a Professional Driver for Titan Transfer. His favorite role though was being a father to his only child Abriana Olivia.
José is survived by his (Mother) Rosa María Orrantia Calatayud; (Former Wife) Denise Rawlings; (Daughter) Abriana Olivia Gonzalez; (Brother) Octavio and wife - Joann Calatayud; (Niece & Nephews) Brandon and wife - Cassie and (Daughter) Layla. Ryan Calatayud with wife - Macy Calatayud. And Evan Calatayud. (Brother) David Calatayud and (Daughter) Mia Calatayud. (Sister) Claudia Mendoza with husband - Jesus Mendoza. (Niece & Nephews) Alexis Calatayud with Gabriel Díaz and (Children) Milan Romero and Tullah Díaz. Cristian Mendoza with wife - Ganessa Mendoza.
José is preceded in death by his father José Ángel González Sr. and Stepfather Octavio Calatayud. And many Aunts and Uncles.
Services for José Ángel González Jr. will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at Funeraria del Angel Central at 3839 Montana Ave El Paso, Tx 79903 Visitation will begin from 5:00pm - 9:00pm with a Rosary to follow at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 9:30am at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar. We are asking to please wear bright colors on this day to celebrate the life of José Ángel González Jr.
