Jose Hector Carranza

Our beloved husband and Father, Jose Hector Carranza went on to be with the Lord on September 11, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents Rafael and Maria de Jesus Carranza. Brothers: Gustavo, Rafael, and Leonardo Carranza, and sister Lupe Macias. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alicia and his five children: Leonardo, Hector Ramon (Inda), Rafael Carranza (Suzanne), Sylvia Hernandez (Hector), and Maria Lena Duarte. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was a 1948 graduate of Cathedral High School.

Jose Hector served in the US Army during the Korean War having received a Purple Heart. He took great pride in serving his country. He began his career in the grocery business as a clerk and successfully made his way up to Store Manager, and eventually retiring in 1996. His friendly personality and sense of humor will be remembered by those he leaves behind. The Carranza family would like to thank the staff from The Hospitals of Providence.

Visitation from 3-8 pm on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Vigil at 6 pm. Funeral Mass at 9:30 am on Monday, September 21, 2015 at St. Pius X. Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hillcrest Funeral Home 1060 N. Carolina 598-3332.
