Joe Acevedo departed from this life on 11/02/2022, at the age of 91. He was born on 3/9/1931 in Gallup, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Virginia, sister Marina, son Joe, grandson Aaron and his beloved Dachshund, Tootsie. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Oralia, children: Gloria (Tom), David, Arturo (Merlinda), Francisco (Letty), Rosa (Johnny), Mary (David) and Geraldo (Carmen). He was the proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren.
Joe grew up in Raton, NM and lived most of his adult life in El Paso, Texas. Joe served in Korea and was a disabled Army Vet and a member of the VFW 8782. He worked at Coors and retired after 35 years. In his retirement he enjoyed his early morning walks and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed the casinos and fishing with his family. He will be dearly missed but his memories will always be in our hearts.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022, from 9:00am to 12:30pm, with a Vigil beginning at 10:30am at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N Carolina Dr. El Paso, TX 79915. A Funeral Mass will take place Monday, November 14, 2022, at 1:00pm at St, Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Rd, El Paso, TX 79925 followed by an Interment at Ft Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave. El Paso, TX 79906.
